Hydrogen-Rich Irrigation for Commercial Glasshouses

A water-quality addition to the irrigation and fertigation system already installed in your head house. HERO Irrigation treats the pressurised feed line — 20 L/min (5.3 gal/min) at 3,000–5,000 ppb dissolved hydrogen — and the treated water reaches the crop through the same drip, dripper-stake or micro-irrigation hardware you run today.

Supplied worldwide by YBG Global at a fixed $16,311 DDP price — freight, duties and remote-guided commissioning included, by card or against a purchase order. Full product specifications live on the HERO Irrigation product page.

Unscripted output verification. A standard production unit running into a small vessel — the visible milky plume is the nano-bubble output itself, at the same 20 L/min and 3,000–5,000 ppb rated on the line. No edit, no narration, no studio. Full footage and context →

Every order is personally reviewed before dispatch. Not a queue and not a call centre: the founder checks your destination, supply voltage and in-line connection against the order, and follows up with you directly before anything ships. That is the advantage of buying from a small, accountable engineering operation rather than a distributor.

Quick answer

Hydrogen-rich glasshouse irrigation means dosing the glasshouse irrigation feed with molecular hydrogen at nano-bubble scale, so water reaching the root zone carries 3,000–5,000 ppb of dissolved hydrogen (sensor-verified) instead of none. The HERO Irrigation WZ-S generates it on demand by PEM/SPE electrolysis at 99.99% purity and injects it in-line at 20 L/min (5.3 gal/min) on the existing pressurised main in the head house, without altering EC, pH or nutrient recipes. YBG Global makes no yield claim: the machine's output, purity and in-line stability are instrumented and certified, while crop-response evidence is limited to reported independent trials — most relevantly a peer-reviewed glasshouse cherry-tomato study in South Korea, with a six-year rice programme in China as secondary support. No multi-season commercial glasshouse trial is on file, and that is stated as an open gap.

Compatibility

It runs alongside your irrigation and fertigation system

YBG Global does not supply irrigation hardware, climate computers or fertigation controllers, and does not ask you to change the ones you have. If your house runs Netafim, Priva, Certhon or any other commercial greenhouse irrigation, fertigation or climate-control infrastructure, that stays exactly as commissioned. HERO Irrigation connects in-line on the pressurised main in the head house and treats the water passing through it — a water-quality dimension those systems do not address, rather than a competing way of delivering or scheduling water.

No change to delivery or control hardware

Drippers, dripper stakes, gutters, mats, valves, filters and irrigation scheduling are untouched. Zone design and emitter selection remain your irrigation designer's decision.

Fertigation and EC/pH control untouched

Injection sits in-line on the feed main; dosing units, mixing tanks and nutrient recipes continue as configured. Hydrogen is not an oxidant — it does not scavenge, bleach or react with nutrient chemistry, and it does not shift EC.

Recirculating or drain-to-waste

Both layouts are supported. Treatment happens on the feed side, so return-line disinfection, filtration and drain analysis continue exactly as designed.

Head-house footprint, single-phase power

550 × 350 × 970 mm (21.7 × 13.8 × 38.2 in), caster-mounted, 800 W from a standard single-phase supply — realistic for a plant-room bay without a three-phase upgrade.
Documented field evidence

Trial data, on the record

Hydrogen-rich water irrigation has been studied across a range of crops and trial designs. These are the two strongest data points on file — independently run, and verifiable at the source.

Six-year programme · China
+18.8% avg yield

Rice — Qingpu, Shanghai

Run jointly with an industrial partner and an agricultural university, recording an average yield increase of 18.8% with reduced lodging and disease incidence across the programme.

Peer-reviewed · South Korea

Cherry tomato — two-year controlled study

Yield and single-fruit weight significantly higher than a conventional-fertiliser control group, alongside improved root-zone microbial activity.

These are independent trial results, not a yield guarantee — commercial outcomes vary with crop, climate and growing practice. The full evidence file, with sources and an honest note on evidence quality, is maintained at hydrogenmachines.com.au/HERO-Irrigation.

For protected cropping the most directly relevant of these is the peer-reviewed South Korean cherry-tomato work — a glasshouse-grown crop, irrigation-delivered, run against a conventional-fertiliser control over two years. The six-year rice programme is reported here as secondary supporting evidence from a different crop and growing system. Both are reported trial results, not a promise of what your house will do, and no multi-season trial across a commercial glasshouse portfolio is on file. What is documented to instrument grade is the machine: dissolved-hydrogen concentration, 99.99% purity, output rate and in-line stability are measured and certified, and the mechanism is set out on the hydrogen nano-bubble technology page. The background explainer on water composition as a managed variable is on hydrogen-rich glasshouse irrigation.

Water side and heat side

Pair irrigation with Climate Systems — one engineering team for both

A heated glasshouse burns fuel as well as pumping water: climate boilers, CO₂ dosing plant, propagation houses and processing or packing facilities. YBG Global's Climate Systems oxyhydrogen generators retrofit to an existing boiler's combustion-air stream — no burner replacement, no re-tubing, no stored gas — so the water side and the heat side of the site can be addressed by the same supplier under one commercial agreement.

Questions, answered

Commercial glasshouse buyer FAQ

Where in a glasshouse water loop does the unit sit?
In-line on the pressurised irrigation main in the head house, downstream of filtration and upstream of the distribution valves, so every treated zone receives the same water. The cabinet is 550 × 350 × 970 mm (21.7 × 13.8 × 38.2 in), 83 kg including accessories (183 lb), IP54 and caster-mounted, which suits a standard head-house or plant-room bay rather than requiring a new building. Recommended flow capacity is up to 6,000 L/day (about 1,585 US gallons/day), and coverage is specified for up to 10 hectares (about 25 acres) of drip-irrigated area per unit.
Does it work with a recirculating or drain-to-waste system?
Both. In drain-to-waste the treated water is dosed once on the way to the crop. In recirculating systems the unit treats the feed line, so hydrogen enters with each irrigation event; because molecular hydrogen is unreactive and volatile, it is not accumulated in the return solution and it does not interfere with EC/pH control loops or with UV or filtration disinfection stages already installed on the return.
Will it interfere with my climate computer or fertigation controller?
No. The unit runs on its own touchscreen HMI and is not inserted into the control logic of a climate or fertigation computer — it does not require a driver, integration licence or protocol mapping to bring it into service. Irrigation scheduling, EC and pH setpoints, nutrient recipes and dosing sequences continue to be issued by the system you already run.
What glasshouse-relevant evidence is on file, and what is not claimed?
The closest documented result is a peer-reviewed two-year controlled cherry-tomato study in South Korea — a glasshouse-grown crop — which reported yield and single-fruit weight significantly higher than a conventional-fertiliser control alongside improved root-zone microbial activity. A six-year rice programme at Qingpu, Shanghai, run with an industrial partner and an agricultural university, reported an average yield increase of 18.8% with reduced lodging and disease incidence, and is cited as secondary supporting evidence. Both are reported trial results, not a promise of outcomes in your house, and no multi-season trial across a commercial glasshouse portfolio is on file. What is instrumented and certified is the machine: dissolved-hydrogen concentration, 99.99% purity, output rate and in-line stability are measured.
How does the bundle work for an operation that also heats its glasshouse?
The Complete Glasshouse Solution pairs one Glasshouse Boiler Oxyhydrogen Generator with one HERO Irrigation system in a single checkout at US$43,900 DDP — US$2,311 below buying the two separately. The generator retrofits to an existing boiler's combustion-air stream to promote a more complete burn; there is no burner replacement, no re-tubing and no stored gas. Larger process duties are sized against fuel and duty and quoted per installation.
Can it be bought against a purchase order rather than by card?
Yes. Two paths at the same fixed price of US$16,311 Delivered Duty Paid: card checkout, or a pro-forma invoice for bank transfer against a purchase order — used where a PO number, supplier registration or board approval is required before payment. Both include DDP freight, duties and import handling, remote-guided commissioning, a 24-month warranty and a 90-day full-refund guarantee.
